The general committee in connection with the completion of the East Coast railway between Napier and Gisborne met at Wairoa to-day.' The discussions were not open to the press, but, after la. lengthy deliberation, the following resolution was carried unanimously; “After tliorough investigation and consideration of the question of the completion of the East Coast Railway, the committee are of the opinion that representations should be made to the

Government immediately to complete the Nap'er-Waikokpu section of the Bust Coast Railway.” A deputation consisting of the Mayors of Hastings, Napier, Wairoa, and Gisborne, with Messrs Richmond and Chadwick, representing the freezing industry, ,are -to proceed to Wel-l-merton at the earliest date to put the arguments in favour of the completion of the line before the Government.
