The House of Assembly approved the recommendation of Newfoundland’s return to the status of a Crown Colony, until self-supporting again.
DISASTROUS SYDNEY FIRE.
(Received this day at 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 30. Fire at Taubman’s varnish factory in St. .Peter’s suburb, to-day caused £IO,OOO damage, and ruining one of the finest plants in the Commonwealth.
