A Chinese, wanted for malicious wounding of another Chinese, escaped into the country.. The police tracked him over.a long distance, and eventually discovered him / near a hill station at Vunidawa, armed with a revolver and razor. Surrounded by Fijians, he threatened to shoot to kill. He fired two shots without effect. The natives threw stones and sticks, and drove him into a native hut, where he committed suicide.
