AN EXPLOSION
PART OF OVEN DEMOLISHED. ..(Per Press Association, Copyright). WHANGARET, August 30. An alarming experience befel Mr Thorn ag Brown, a baker, of Gillie ß 'Street - ', Kawakawu; last evening, an exploshig occurring in the furnace of the oven in bis bakehouse. At about 7.30 o’clock Mr Brown went into the bakehouse and replenished the fire in the furnace of the oven •preparatory to commencing his evening’s baking operations. He then went into the shop which is close 'to the bakehouse end five arrnutes later a tcnVfie explosion occurred, It w«« found that the side .and the back", of the oy«\j| had been blown out. The door was lying on the floor of the bakehouse in a heap of debris, ,an<l the chimney was iserioyislv cracked. Mr Brown is unable to account for the explosion.
