ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. PRICES AT YESTERDAY’S SALE(Per Press Association—Copyright). CHRISTCHURCH, 30. An improved tone in 'the wool market, combined with favourable overseas reports, has -created an improved tone, in the sheep market. All classes ■at the store sheep sale to-day at Addington had a buoyant sale throughout.
Thirty spring lambs were penned, the -general quality being better. Heaviest lambs sold up to 32s 4d. There was a lighter yarding of mutton, Values were firmer all round. Best prime wethers sold to 33 s 4d, light from 18s; best heavy ewes to 30s 4d, light from 14b. VTihc total yarding of beef was about the same as last week. The sale was a dragging one. There was an easing up to 20s .per head in values in many cases. The quality was good. Prime heavy bullocks Bold at from 20s to 22s per hundred weight; medium weights fetched from 22s to 24s per cwt; choice lots occasionally fetched 255; prime heifers fetched from 20s to 22s per cwt; medium from 17s ; best cow s 18s to 1 6 .per cwt ; average .from 165., The best price for bullocks was £l2 7s 6d; prime £9 5s to £9 17s 6d ; medium £7 15s to- £8 12s 6d; light from £5 52s 6d. Heavy -cows sold up to £9 12,3 6d, prime £5 2s 6d to £6 7 S 6d; medium from £4 2s 6d ; light from 555. Extra heavy heifers sold to £9 12s 6d ; prime £6 2s 6d to £6 /17s 6d ; medium from £4 17s 6d; unfinished from £3 15s.
The fat pigs were a shorter entry. Porkers sold from 2(A to 24s 6d, heavy to 3Qs 6d ; a few extra heavy going to 33s 6d. Choppers fetched 30s to £3 16s, according to weigh;. Average baconers sold from 36:s to 44s 6-d, heavier to -53 s 6d; extra, to £3 4s '6d, Sows in pig were dull of sale. Weanere were firm. Large stores were easier.
