Sir Thomas Wilford and Mr S. Bruce were aniong'the guests <■ of the Junior Carlton Club’s celebration of Empire Day. Lord Derby, presided and exhibited a sheaf of congratulatory messages from all parts of the Empire, including the King, Sir Isaac Isaac (Governor of Australia), and Lord Bledisloe.
.The mehu consisted of such exotics as birds nests, and shark fin soup, but Welsh, and New Zealand lamb and Scottish beef formed the backbone of the luncheon. /■'
