FEILDING, May 23

During the week-end the drapery shop of McGi’uers, Ltd., i,n Feilding, was entered by burglars, and an unsuccessful .attempt wag made to hl° w open the safe. This is the second similar burglary in Feilding,; as 'a safe in J. Cobhe and Coy’s drapery premises was recently unsuccessfully subjected to a charge of an explosive. . The gained entrance to McGruei’s by means of a reay window. The lock of the safe was blown off by an explosive and th e mechanism shattered, but the do°r could not be opened A ,sinn of money was removed from a ltill 'in the shop, but it is believed thH no stock was taken.

The burglary 'apparently took place o,n Saturday, as a resident living near the'shop informed the police that she heard a muffled explosion which sue thought wa 6 a motor tyre blow out.
