Amid an attractive exhibition of fruit at- Australia House and in the presence of many representatives of the trade, Mr S. M. Bruce, Australian Minister in London, opened the apple season.
Mr Bruce said the display represented 4,0:0,00ji cases that were comiinv to Britain, including Queensland’s first shipment of apples. Australia was endeavouring to maintain the highest standards of produce, and to earn the goodwill of British housewives,. Mr Hill said that South Australia and other States .ivei’e ! .ajming> to keep fruit true to'label,j f {in<l ?l to ensure continuity of supply. He emphasised that it was necessary for Australia to increase her trade in order to meet interest indebtedness.
