C. E. Malfroy and Mrs H. M. Dykes both of Wellington, claimed the singles titles in the. South “fkfSftcl hard courts ohampionships, concluded at Wilding Park yesterday. Malfroy, -after a poor beginning, showed wonderful form and over the latter stages left C. Angus, the Canterbury champion, well in the rear. He won, 4-3, 03, 6-1,-6-0. in the rear. He won,- 4-8, 0-6, G-l, 6-2 6-0.

In the women’s singles final, Mrs Dykes proved far too experienced' ah opponent for Miss Rudkin, beating her 6-1, and 6-2. : ;
