OBITUARY

The death' occurred suddenly at Reefton Hospital, of Martin Phelan, an emploa’ee of the Blackwater Mine at Waiutu. Deceased was taken ill and was removed to the Inangah.ua Hospital on Sunday morning. He died on Sun. day evening. The late Mr Phelan was 28 years of age, and is survived by his parents and ten sisters and two brothers. The family is well known in the Grey Valley.

The death has occurred of Mr Alfred Dillon Bell. 81. years of age, a runholder of Shag Valley, and a brother of Sir F-aucis Bell. Mr A. D. Bell was the firs' chairman of the Waihemo County Council. Ho was a member of the Otago Military Appeal Board diming the war.
