ESCAPE FROM FIRE

WALKED ON BURNING FLOOR.

Hamilton, March 9,

A three-roomed house in McFarlane Street, Hamilton East, was gutted by fire shortly after 11 o’clock to-night and the onlv. occupant, Mr Bege'e Zambon, an Italian aged about 50, had to run barefooted over burning floorboards to make good his escape. Tn escaping Mr Zambon received burns to the feet, making it almost impossible for him to .walk when he reached t]ie open air. When neighbours -an the*bjirning. building, they found Mr Zambon lying in great rain on the grass. He w»s later taken to the Waikato Hospital.
