DESIRE FOR DESERT PEACE. LONDON, December 26. The Poet Laureate, Mr John Masefield, who recently left his home at Boar’s Hill, Oxfordshire, because the roar of passing aeroplanes annoyed him, has gone to seek peace in the (Arizona desert. He sailed yesterday from New York with liis wife. “I am going to live the simple life in a bungalow in the Arizona desert for ten weeks,” he isaid. “I will not' ; W rite or read while I am there. I know I shall find the desert inspiring.” Afterwards Mr Masefield may give b ye. dings from his works in the principal American cities.
