DEATH OF DOCTOR

AUCKLAND, January 6
The death lias occurred at the Auckland Hospital of Dr James Watkins Harper, medical practitioner, formerly well-known in the New Lynn district.
Dr Harper, who was staying with friends -at Belmont, became ill suddenly about 2 p.m. yesterday. He was attended by Dr Garfield Stewart, who found lum unconscious, and apparently suffering from poisoning. After two hours of treatment, he appeared
to have recovered considerably, but it was decided that he should be sent to the Auckland Hospital. Dr Harper was about 40 years of age, and was unmarried. He came to Auckland from England some years ago, and started practice. He was .formerly in the medical branch of the Royal Air. Force. His people had plantations in tlie West Indies. A polst mortem qxamination was made this morning.
