GIRL’S SUICIDE
INFATUATED BY WEALTHY MAN
LONDON, November 18.
A beautiful 23-year.old Austrian gill's infatuation for a rich. London basinets man whom ©life met during his holiday in Vienna last summer, is believed to be the cause of a tragedy at 'Victoria Station, London. 3h e girl, Tina JK.Qt.st.ler, of Bad lechl, near Salznurg, Austria, was found shot through thi© heart in a boat train a minute after she had said “Goou-Dye’' on the platform. Nile arrived in London and .w € nt to stay at an hotel near the Strand. •It is stated that she immediately conmiuniciated with an Englishman much i.f:,‘or than herself hi© age L said to b e 55. She came to London, it is understood, to renew the friendship. In the “occupation” column in the hotel register sh e had writt e n “None.” Details in her' passport, however, gave her occupation as that of a governess and her age as 23. Her parents ai’e believed to be wealthy. Arrangements' were made for her to return to her home in Austria, and i-h p was accompanied in a taxi to Victoria Station by a nur-s© ar.d a man who is one of th e hotel staff.
REVOLVER FOUND. , It, was seven minutes before the train .. .-the Folkostone-Boulogn e Continental boat-train—was due to leave that she was found shot in .a first-class compartment. Under a s eat was a small revolver.
The man who ©aw her off at Victoria .Station told a reporter last night; “I had already left the platform when the tragedy .occurred. I did not know that she bad a revo/.ver in her possess.on.” A. porter said: “Only a minute before th e . tragedy I, ©aw the girl walking agitatedly .up and down the platform after'saying good-bye. to a man.” From letters found among her luggage it is believed that * c h l£ >. had been corresponding. with the Englishman 4°). some months. The coach in which the shooting occurred, and the luggage-van, were detached from the train, . which left eighteen minutes behind time. .
