MOTOR ACCIDENTS

PRECAUTIONS IN BRITAIN,

(Bri+ish Official Wireless.)

RUGBY, January 3

As the sequel to conferences between the Ministry of Transport and various road users’ organisations, a new scheme has been evolved • whereby it is hoped, eventually, to lessen the nuaabev of accidents on the roads. The system provides for the collection of much fuller information regarding all accidents than has hitherto been available.

All of the details regarding every accident, including the state of the weather of the road, the age and sex of the driver, the length of his or her driving experience, the age of the car, the conditions of the tyres, and the employment or otherwise of a dimming device on the head lamps, are to be collated and analysed with a view to possible alterations in the traffic regulations.
