CHRISTCHURCH, November 22.
Work at the various Canterbury freezing works was to have started today but very few, if any, union men offered. ] ,
At Belfast and Islington the men met in ihe hall and the companies terms were explained by the management. The men declined to accept. No disorder occurred.
A number of permanent hands began killing.
The police are on guard at both placets. ■ ,
