REMITS PASSED BY EXECUTIVE. fPer Press Association*- Copyright,) WELLINGTON, October 27. The Farmers’ Union executive carried remits that the Premier and Minister of Native Affairs be approached and urged that, all tenants on native leasehold properties be treated in similar manner to lessees on European lands; that an emphatic protest be made to the Native Trustee against the excessive costs of renewal of leases recently issued in respect ,of lands o-r ■native reserves; that the. Government be asked to reinstate the twelve and a half per cent, rebate on county rates; that the principal of voting which applies to county councils apply also to power board elections; that, in regard to reducing land valuations, the Government be asked to pass legislation permitting a percentage re- j duction on the last ''valuation of counties; protesting against the reported request of the chambers of commerce to the Government to deprive meat and dairy , boards of the rights whereby they control shipping and marketing; protesting against the railway concession rate on butter for distances from 175 to 340 mijes being used,'except for export butter.
