BELFAST RIOTS
ALL QUIET IN BELFAST. (United Press. Association—By IlectrJc Telegraph—Copyright.) IttJGBY, October 14. Disturbances in the public house® of Belfast yesterday evening were quickly dealt with by the police and no repeti. tion of. the rioting has since occurred. The night passed quietly and conditions are normal to-day. RELIEF GRANTED. BELFAST, October 14. Following the riots, the Government, announces an all-round increase in relief from 40 per cent to 60 per cent., with no victimisation of the strikers. The corporation is providing additional work, for which the Government is paying half the cost. These measures are expected to avert a general strike.
