GOLD MINING
FIND AT COROMANDEL. (Ter Press Association — Copjriyht.l THAMES, October 15. Reports from Coromandel show that Sam Chapman and son have discovered -a new leader containing valuable ore. Yesterday 601 b. of specimen stone were lodged in the Bank of New Zealand. Sam junior holds a miner’s right over fifteen -acres between Pukewliau claim and an old battery site on the slopes of Tiki Range. Roth have been prospecting for some time and about a week ago discovered a leader. They drove oil it for ten feet, when they discovered indicators of rich ore. When the news spread there was a mild rush to the scene and several claims were pegged out adjoining Chapmans’. The ground in the vicinity had been worked in the earlier days when much gold was taken out.
