THE IRISH QUESTION
LONDON SUPPORT FOR MR DE VALERA ON ARRIVAL (United Press Association—By Electric Teiegraph—Copyright.) (LONDON, October 14. Crowds of Irish folk in London enthusiastically cheered Mr de Valera on his arrival at Victoria Station. The police 'had to force am exit for his waiting car, which the crowds followed when it carried him away. They ehouted: “Up, de Valera,” “Republic for ever,” and “Tb hbll with McNeill.” Mr de Valera refused to make any statement. The “News-Chronicle” states that the suggested successors to Mr McNeill include Mr John McCormack, the singer, and Mr Norton, Leader of the Labour Party in the Free State. The “'Daily Sketch’s” Dublin correspondent .says it is reported that Mr de Valera asked for an audience with the King for the purpose of tendering advice regarding Mr McNeill's successor. Government circles reiterate that he will propose himself, without emolument, combining the office with that of .President of the Executive, W RESUMPTION OF NEGOTIATIONS. BUG BY. October 13. The Anglo-Irish negotiations will be resumed at the Dominions, Office, London, to-morrow. Mr de Valera has reached London, accompanied by Messrs ’MacEntee, Geoghegan and Maguire.
