A famous pre-war millionaire naturalised British banker, Edgar Speyer, died at Berlin, aged seventy. He was a conspicuous figure in London social financial circles. He was made a Baronet in 191)6. He resigned all English, offices in 1915 and asked Mr Asquith to revoke the Baronetcy.
