A monster cabbage grown by Mr A G. Yard ley, of Moorlumse Street. Morrinsville, when cut weighed 221 b, and was Nin. across the heart. It is described by seedsmen as a perfect specimen of' one of the best strains of drumhead cabbages. Tbe spread of its outside leaves was 3ft. and its heart was perfectly formed and shaped. This year the Wanganui City Council has adopted the colour scheme for dog collars. Hitherto all dog collars issued by local bodies acre of flip same colour, but- the City Council lias now chosen green. When a dog is seen wearing a green collar the city officials will he able to tell at a glance that it is registered and that its owner lives in the. eitv area
