WORK-OUT AT COOK ISLANDS. (United P’Eflssi Association —By Electric •Telegraph.—Copyright.; I S4N DIEGO, January 4. The Agua Caliente Club has informed the Australian Press Association that it has received a cable from tlie Cook Island saying that Phar Lap was taken off the ship Monowai for a work-out 1 there, and that he will leave there to-morrow, January sth., making his next stop ‘at Tahiti for another work-out to keep him in condition. Mr Crofton |,of the Agua- Caliente Club, stated that he has 'offered Phar Lap’s owners-, ! -the use of his private ranch at Palm City, on the New Mexican border, as a place to rest Phar Lap before he enters upon intensive training at Caliente.
