A paragraph regarding large hen eggs laid in the North Island has brought to light an example of a very large egg laid by a AVhite Leghorn hen belonging to,an Ashburton resident (says the Guardian). The other morning Air AV. Aloses, of AA’ills street west, brought to the office a hen egg that weighed exactly 4-joz. The egg was three inches and a-hnlf in length and seven inches in circumference. Mr Moses said that from hi® flock of AAHiite Leghorns he obtained double and threevolk eggs frequently.

Those who attended last year’s annual School Concert will remember the excellence of the production, and will be glad to know that arrangements for this year’s performance on September 16th. and 17th. are well in hand.
