SATURDAY’S GAMES, The senior competition will he continued to-morrow when Rivals meet Stars on Class Square, and Excelsiors play United and C'obden play Blaketown at Greymoutli. The Rivals-Star game should he an even contest. Both sides endeavour to. make the game open and the play should prove interesting. The other game for Cass Square is the junior match between Excelsior and Kiwi. Last week the junior game on the Square was far more interesting than the senior contest. Star seniors to play Rivals at Hokitika are: Henderson, Hughes, Reynold, Eartherne, Behan, Fong, Guy, Furness, Petrie, Buchanan, Fell, Mclntosh Deere, Dunn, Cochrane, Bell. The follow ing will represent Kiwis in their match with Excelsiors to-mor-row : —Swcney, Webb, Wright, Broadbent, White, Hewlett, Auld, Sumner, Roberts, Morgan, Stapleton, Walker, Heinz, E. Olson, Died rich. Emer: Raine, Bell, R. Olsen, Cook. The following will represent Excelsior seniors against Uaiteds at Greymouth to-morrow: —.Eager, Thompson, Bannister, Freitas, Hughes (2), Wright (2), M. Kelly, Davidson,, McOleary, Muir, King, Schroder, Stevenson. The following.'will represent Excelsior juniors against Kiwis:—Richards, Edwards, Iyeogan,-Hqll, (2), Adamson, Collyor, Anderson, Leslie, Connors, Mitoliel, Dale, Jones, Chisholm, Hamilton.
S. AFRICANS NOT TO TOUR N.Z. (By Teleyraph —Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 16. The South African Rugby Board has advised the New Zealand Union that for the present, it will not accept the invitation to visit New Zealand in 1934. The question of acceptance w’ould he deferred to a. later date. The Board stated that a team was visiting England at the end of the present season, Argentine in 1932, and was receiving a visit from Australia in 1933. In the present economic conditions of the country, it war's feared that by placing too heavy, a-tax on the time of the players, a public reaction against the game would he caused. Already there was a growing • feeling against the frequency of such tours.
