AT SAMOA

NEW ADMINISTRATOR ARRIVES. (Special to Press Association by radio). (Received 8.50 a.m.) APIA, May 1. At 9 o’clock this morning, favoured with ideal weather conditions. Administrator Hart and party landed on a flag bedecked wharf, to a salute of fifteen guns. They were officially welcomed by Deputy Administrator Turnbull, and present on the wharf were Chief Judge Luxford, Secretary of Native Affairs Mcßride and other officials and heads; also the elected membervMeredith, native members, Malietoa and Mataafa, and a full body of failpule and constabulary armed guard' of honour and band under Inspector Braisby. The Administrator proceeded to Yaiiima and on the way passed through two lines of ifi Ifi and Malifa school children, each child waving a small Union Jack. The street was decked with .streamers flags and greenery. An area of welcome bearing the words “Afio Man” presented a charming picture. .me whole proceedings were conducted without; u hitch. This afternoon the Administrator will attend a Samoan welcome function ut Mulinuu.
