BLEXITEIAI, June o
In continuation of the controversy which has arisen between Air G. E. Healey. AI.P., and Air AY. J. Girling in relemnce to the now famous supposed. leiegram at election time from Mr J. G. Coates in reference to the
South Alalia Trunk Railway, Air Healey. AI.P., this morning made the following statement. "This is just what did transpire. Air Girling asked me how I liked Parliament. On my reply, he stated that he thought he should write to the paper in reply to references to himself and to the railway which had been made in the House. 1 offered to advise hftn of any matters discussed . appertaining to the Railway. When 1 told him (Air Girling) that Mr Coates had denied ever sending him (Air Girling) a telegram regarding railway construction. Air Girling replied: “.He is nothing but a twofaced man!” I am sure this is very different from what Air Girling states that I said, viz: “AA’liy worry about it’” words, I never thought of using! Perhaps Air Girling will admit also waving a telegram on the Pic-ton platform the night before the election and stating that it- was from the then Prime Minister promising; the completion of the line.”
