Rumours that members of the British'team snubbed Porter, the captain of the Wellington team, after the match on Tuesday, are emphatically denied by Porter. He says that the feelings between the Wellington team and the British were most cordial, and lie was warmly congratulated by the tourists on iiis side’s win. SNUBBING REFUTED. CHRISTCHURCH, June 5. An emphatic denial that Cliff Porter, the Wellington captain and wmg forward, was snubbed by members of the British team, after the match, was given by Prentice (captain) this morning. He expressed surprise such a statement should have been made and he asserted that as Porter had denied the allegations it should not have appeared in print. He and the rest of the team knew Porter as a fine footballer and a good sportsman, and if there was ever any off-side play on the part of the wing-forward the checking of such rested with the referee. The best answer to the allegation of snubbing was given by Porter himself in his denial, BRITISHERS ARRIVE IN CHRISTCHURCH, CHRISTCHURCH, June 5, The British Rugby team arrived this morning and were given a civic reception. On account of injuries Sobey will probably not be available for the first test, Prentice has a poisoned arm and it is doubtful if he will play against Canterbury.

AT CHANGED ITINERARY

The executive of the Rugby Union here are extremely disappointed at the proposed alteration of the itinerary for the Australian section of the tour of thp British team as cabled from Now Zealand. The feeling is that the amended itinerary will involve a financial loss and it was decided to cable back a request for the original programme to be adhered to.
