Five actions for deifamation arising out of the notorious “ faked ballot-box incident ” at Labour Headquarters, r Sydney, some years ago, concluded here to-day. Dave Rees, former members of the Australian Labour Party Executive, alleging the defendants had as executive officers prepared and read a defamatory report bdfore the A.L.P. Conference of 1922, describing Bailey as a political, leader and impugning his conduct as am election officer about that time. Tho jury to-day found in favour if Bailey and awarded damages as follows: —Against Wills, £2,750; Howie, Smith | and Rees, £500; O’Reilly £250. ’
