Meetings of the miners ion the Northern (Coalfields in orderyto disepss;,the terms- for the settlement of the coat dispute as cabled,'ph Friday, will be held during the week-end. The Union delegates to tlie recent, conference are strongly urging the Union’s acceptance of terms, but there is considerable hostility in some quarters, and an attempt will he made by the militants to have the terms rejected. There was a significant development to-day at Lithgow, in the YVestern District, where the miners, at a mass meeting, unanimously rejected tlie terms, and also pledged themselves to fight any kind of wage reduction to the hitter end.
The position, therefore, is still in the balance.
