POLISH FARMER

Enraged because his relatives were opposed to him marrying a German gii'l, a young- Polish farmer, living at Kartowitz, killed six out of seven of the members of his family with an axe while they were sleeping. He then cleaned the weapon, and went to a public house, where, after ordering a drink, he casually mentioned that he had killed his family. Everyone thought he was joking. The bodies were only found next morning. The farmer has been arrested.
