READY FOB TRIALS. GREATER EFFICIENCY THAN RlOl (British Offieiall Wireless). R UGBY, November 29. R.IOO, the second of two new British airships, which was constructed by the Airship Guarantee Company, has been handed over to the Air Ministry for flying trials. It is claimed that RIOO will give a belter performance than R' 101, in that sue will travel faster and will carry a greater useful load. Tin's is partly attributed to the use of petrol as fuel instead of heavy'oil. The l Use of petrol enables light-weight aero . engines to he used.

R 100 has the power equipment of six Rolls-Royce Condor engines of 660 to 709 horse-power each, giving a total horse-power of 4200, asm against 2340 horse-power for forward progression in 101. The designers claim that RIOO will have a top speed of eighty miles an hour, and a range, of 3000 miles at a cruising speed of seventy miles an hour. Decreasing the speed to fifty miles an hour would increase the inaximium range in still air to 5000 miles.
