THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL

HAMILTON. Dec. 2

There was a very large gathering at Alemorial Park this afternoon to farewell Their Excellencies. Tributes were paid hv the Mayor and representatives of the returned soldiers, and Chandler of Commerce. Sir C. Fergusson, replying, spoke of the noble example of the pioneers and soldiers. He urged young and old to play tlieir part as Empire builders. Each should do his or her duty whatever the sacrifice. As the men at the War had done their duty, so should each do their daily work. As long as the work was done in the right spirit, all counted the same, whether it was showy or humble. HAMILTON, Dec. 3. Their Excellencies visited Ruakura State Farm and Waikato Public Hospital this morning. The GovernorGeneral was entertained at lunch by the Rotary Club and handed to Alavor Fow. of Hamilton, deeds of Camp Fergusson, a community camping area at Okete Falls, Raglan Haiivour, acquired by public subscription, largely as the result of Lord Fergusson’s appeal on behalf of youth. RAILAVAY WORKER. HURT. CHRISTCHURCH. Dec. 2. While working in a pit at the Islington R;ail way AVorks to-dav, George Aliller. of Ricearton. surfaceman, had his right arm caught in the cogs of some machinery, his hand being almost torn off. Portion of bis arm was later amputated at the hospital.
