Kew Zealand, was entrenched behind bundles of papers, fie remarked: “1 am most busy, and have been unable to rest, even on Sunday.” Asked when lie was departing, he replied: “I do not know! Everything has been most hurried. Sir Charles f’ergusson is leaving New Zealand in January. Maybe J will be obliged to sail then. It is usual to warn appointees for a minimum of six months. 1 have merely been given one month’s notice. However, 1 am completely in the hands of tiie Dominions Ofhc-e.
