Charles Barron, assistant' referee of the bout was killed an hour afterwards, but before he died he fatally wounded James Walsh, a fight promoter. Barcon fell foul of Walsh for awarding tlie sixth round to Griffiths, and after the fight Walsh attacked Barron, breaking his nose. Barron and a .friend secured a gun and found Walsh with three members of his gang in a restaurant. A revolver duel ensued in which both fell. ‘ ’ 1
