LATE LOCALS.

There was a strong run of whitebait this morning and some good catches were reported. A parishioners social evening under the auspices of the Girls’ and Young Men’s All Saints’. Social, Club, will be held to-morrow (Friday) evening at All Saints’ Hall. Admission will be'by sib ver coin and a first class programme has been arranged. The death took place this morning at the residence of her son Mr Stephen Havill, of Upper Koiterangi, of Mrs Sarah Havill, relict of the late Mr John Havill, a former well known resident of North Revell Street for many years. The deceased was a native of Gloucestershire, England, and had reached the advanced age of 93 years. She came to New Zealand some 75 years ago, and shortly after arrived in Hokitika, where she was a well known and respected resident over a long period of years, living in North Revell Street and rearing a large family. Her husbdnd predeceased her .many years ago. She leaves a family of two daughters (Mrs S. Honey, of Arahura, and Mrs E. Gale, of Palmerston North), and six sons (John, at Te Arolia., Albert add Edward at Palmerston North, Frederick at Kanicri Forks, Joseph at Arahura, and Stephen, at Koiterangi). There Will be general regret expressed at the passing of another of the old band of honoured pioneers, and sympathy for the bereaved members of the family.
