FUR BURGLARY

AUCKLAND. October 1

A sensational robbery was committed by two men at the premises of the Arctic Fur Company, upper Queen Street, to-night. Furs valued at about one hundred pounds were stolen. The men gained entry Insmashing a glass door. A young girl who was standing on the footpath nearby ran into her house and told her mother, who rang for the police. Returning to the road, the girl saw .Iho men emerge from the shop and run down the street, carrying two heavy packages. Four Detectives and one Constable arrived, and a thorough search of the neighbourhood was started at once. The search had extended to AVaverley ■Street, which runs behind the shop. Svlien. two men were seen to leave a house. They were stopped and questioned. They were preparing to enter a taxi, and in their possession the detectives found tr sugar sack, Stuffed full of furs, and a large valise, which had been left in the shop hv the manager. As a result the men were arrested nmd taken ,to the Central Police Station. The furs, which were piled high on a table, were identified by the Alanager of the Company. ■,
