THE GORGE RACE. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 28. The biggest amateur road race in the South Island, .known as Round the Gorge Race, over a distance of 100 miles, was won to-day by N. Berry (handicap 24 mins.) his time being 5 hours 12 mins. 33 secs. L. Buckley (40 mins) 5-1/;-.<,2 3-5 was second; and D., J. Richapdson (35 mins) 5-12-52, third, (rhqj fatest. .time was done by F.
