THE PRINCE’S PILOT
Mift FIELDEN APPOINTED,
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, Sept. ,25,
Air Fielden has been appointed personal pilot to the Prince of Wales. He. was selected out of eighty members of the Reserve of the Royal Air Force who were considered for the post. It is understood that the Prinoe does not propose to take out a pilot’s certificate, and the new Moth machine which he has purchased will be flown by Air Fielden. As the machine is fitted with dual controls, however, the Prince will sometimes fly it.
When the Prince uses the service machine that is at his disposal!, Squadron-Leader Don will pilot it as hitherto. For the past six months All* Fielden lias been employed as personal r .jlot to Captain Guest, chairman of tlie National Flying Services Company. They only recently returned from an air trip to Africa. Last March Air Fielden was awarded the Air Force Cross for distinguished peace-time flying.
