Her love for babies landed Mile Cecille Sorel, the Paris actress; into an embarrassing position, from which she made a charming escape. She attended the Magistrate’s Court to prefer. a charge against a man for the tlietft of jewellery valued at £3200 from hey fiat, and as she was leaving the court she passed a woman holding a baby. She bent down to kiss it, and was somewhat disconcerted to learn that the accessed man was the father of the child. After such an affectionate encounter Mile. Sorel could do nothing else but withdraw the charge and all ended happily.
A RAILWAY IMPROVEMENT.
