At Leichardt Stadium last night in a fifteen round contest, Tommy Fair--hall 10.0 outpointed Charlie Purdy 10.5 (N.Z) after a ljard gruelling,conin which' the New Zealander fought gamely. Fan-hall opened more confidently than Purdy, aud landed many blows over -Purdy’s .heart and pad him groggy in ilie fifth. Purdyreceived plenty of punishment right through but occasionally Purdy, wh6, was, mostly on the defensive,. rallied* and connected with his opponent’s chinand nose.
