CHILD’S DEATH
MOTOR DRIVER EXONERATED

CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 23 An inquest regarding the death of Aileen O’Donoghue, age.tl ; s£, years,;.was held by 4lie' S.M. this afterriodn. - jTlie child was killed by being knocked down by a motor truck in Manchester St. on August Bth. . The evidence given was to the effect unit the child ran across the street wuhout looking to the right or the left for approaching traffic, and that the result was that she ran right under the wheels of a motor truck,: and wa s knocked down, suffering a fracture of the skull, which caused her death. Several witnesses agreed that the motor truck was travelling slowly, . pulled up promptly.
The Coroner found that death was due to injuries accidentally received, no blame being attachable:to the motor driver.
