CAPE NATIVES
IN ELECTION CAMPAIGN. United Press Association.—ByElectrn Telegraph.- -Copyright.) CAPETOWN. May 24. The South African Union election campaign is arousing the natives of the Capo. To-day the town of Robertson in the Eastern Capo Colony, became alarmed at motor lorries filled with natives, which arrived, in response to a 'challenge that the farmers would not allow a meeting of natives. Tho residents of Robertson telegraphed to Premier Hertzog, who real ied that lie could not interfere with tho meeting. There was a large force of police, who prevented any violence. Communistic snoeclies wore delivered. General Smuts, in a Birthday speech at Si. Andorton. pleaded for Christianlike treatment for the natives.
