A DAILY MESSAGE
USTE YOUR MENTAL BROOM! Yus, we arc quite up-to-date; we use the vacuum-cleaner to pick up thegrime and dust which gathers in our carpets, curtains, and corridors. And, if we haven’t got a vacuumcleaner, we “go to it” heartily with a broom and sweep up. We like a clean house—who wouldn’t? —for a clean house promotes health and keeps the doctor at bay., , If we did not use some effectual measures to clean out the corners, our houses would soon become hovels. Everybody recognizes this. lint not everybody recognizes that it is quite as important that we should vacuum-clean, or sweep out, the corridors of the mind each day as it is that we should pick up the specks on the carpet. We gather mental dust—and sometimes not a little grime—in the course of the day’s work. The clashing of wills, the controversies, the hasty judgments, which so often enter into the day’s work, leave many cobwebs of misunderstanding hanging in our mental corridors.
As with the dust in our houses, if dust in our minds is allowed to accumulate, the mind also becomes a mental hovel.
Use your mental vaceum-cleaner or your mental broom, and sweep away those mental, cobwebs which gatlie; every day, (unless we hunt them out. It is'more important to be regular and searching in sweeping up mentally than 'it is to sweep up the curtains, carpets, and corridors in our houses. A daily sweep-up of the mind will mean cleaner thoughts, cleaner judgments, cleaner decisions, a cleaner outlook. Sweep up! • JVI PRESTON STANLEY
