ROYAL TOURNAMENT AT OLYMPIA
THE QUEEN ATTENDS OPENING

Tile Queen was the central figure in a brief but impressive ceremony when she opened the Royal Tournament at Olympia to-day in the great hall. .The. crowd stood motionless while the bands pealed out the -National Anthem, Then they burst into cheering, loud and long.
The Prince of Wales, in the uniform of tlie Welsh Guards, took the salute in front- of the centre of the guards of honour. After the Prince had inspected the guards of honour he entered the? Royal box, and both the Queen bud the Prince watched with great interest the clever evolutions carried out by tne men of the various, services.
... The Prince of Wales, in the garden of St. Tames’s Palace, earlier in the day, received 1 the colours of the .West African Regiment, of which lie was ColoneL-in-Chief. This regiment has just been disbanded after thirty years of service. Eighteen ex-officers of the regiment'attended in khaki and fifty ex-meml>ers of the regiment in civilian clothes.
