MR R. G. BROPHY DECIDES TO STAY .HERE. CHRISTCHURCH, 'Feb. 13. Questioned as to bow he liked Now Zealand. Mr R. G. Brophy, second in conn..and, and business manager of the Byrd expedition, stated yesterday that lie thought enough of the country to stay here alkhis life. Mr Brophy said that he would spend next summer in Auckland, where lie would probably make his home. He had several business interests in New Zealand. Mr Brophy left by the south express yest* rday to meet the Eleanor Bolling, the supply ship of the expedition, at Dunedin, where some last minute supplies are to be taken aboard. Included amongst the cargo to be picked up are another aeroplane, two automobiles, two large crawler tractors, similar in typo to the war-time tanks, four portable houses, 8000 gallons of aviation spirit, 4000 gallons of kerosene, and a large quantity of food, oil, grease, etc. The Eleanor Bolling has run into bad weather, which has delayed hei arrival at Dunedin until to-dav. When Mr Brophy has completed his business in Dunedin, he will spend a fortnight’s holiday on a fishing expedition in the North Island.
