WEDDING BELLS

A pretty wedding was celebrated a All Saint’s Ciuircli, Hokitika, o,n Wed nesday last when Dorothy Alice, del est daughter of Mr and Airs D. A Ditely, Arahura, was united in (In knurls of holy matrimony to Arllim Selwyn, second sou of .Mr and Mr; •Joseph I-lavill, Arahura. The cere mony was performed by Rev. Nelsoi Wright. Air Johnson presided at thr organ. The hride entered the churcl on the arm of her father to the strain' of the “Wedding .March.” She was charmingly attired in ankle-length frock of ivory crope-sylvia mauve, trimmed" with silver lace. Her till It veil was hold in place bv a coronet oi orange blossoms. She carried a beau tiful shower bouquet of mauve am" cream sweet peas and roses with creair streamers. She was attended by Alisi Honey Dnlgleish in * a stylish frock of delphinium blue georgette with petalled overdress of blue tulle with shoe and stockings to tone. Her bouquet was of pale pink and white sweet pear with blue streamers. The duties of best man were ably discharged by Mr Jack Havill, brother of the bride groom. After the ceremony the bride’s mother received her guests at Preston’s tea rooms in a model frock of him crepe do chine with fawn hat and shoes and stockings to match assisted by Mrs J. Havill (mother of the bride gl'optn) who wore a charming frock of black georgette and lace with gold trimmings and black and gold hat. 'l’he bride’s going away dress was of atmosphere crepe do chine, fcaturinr the now uneven hem line trimmed with mauve, with hat to match, and smart tailored coat of navy ehamerlainc. The newly wedded pair left by the evening train (amidst showers of confetti), en route to Akaroa, where the honeymoon will be spent. The wedding presents were numerous and costly and included many cheques. In the evening a most successful social was held in the One Mile Hall the guests being fully representative of the district. Musical items wore contributed by Misses R. Ward. L. Shcrriff, E. Dale and Mr L. George Recitations were given by Airs Nelson Wright and Master G. Agncw. A dainty supper was served and dancing was kept up till the small hours.
