According to hints from Quai d’ Orsay. where the American Note is being delivered on Saturday, Mr Ooolidge added a conciliatory touch when completing the final draft. It is understood Mr Coo-lidge intimated that America does not agreei with the! French viewpoint. A Quai d’ Orsay spokesman said, if so, the Franco-British Agreement ends, hut we hop© to- find an acceptable basis for negotiations after Japan and Italy reply.
