VALEDICTORY
SQjCIAL AND PRESENTATION. The third anniversary of the St. Paul’s Methodist Young Ladies’ Bible Class was celebrated by a social evening in the St. Andrew’s Hall last night. As this was their leader’s farewell and Miss Lynn had also, been Vice-President of the Amateur Dramatic Club, and an active office bearer in the Church, the two bodies were also represented. A programme qf music and games had been arranged, Misses Wylie, A. Lynn, Knight and Air Bulpin contributed songs and Mr Kennedy a humorous speech. Air K. Glover proved an able M.C. for tlie games. [During the evening occasion was taken to refer to the" splendid services rendered by Miss Lynn to the Church in its numerous activities. As the founder of the Girls Bible Class, a very important work had been inaugurated by her, her pulpit ministrations have been greatly enjoyed, and her scholastic abilities greatly assisted in the training of the Club members for their recent presentation of playettes. Short but very complimentary speeches were made by Air T. Duff, Circuit Stewart of tlie Church and the Rev. G. Knowles-Smith, the latter in closing called upon the President of the Y.L.B.C. to make a presentation to Aliss Lynn on behalf of the combined societies. Tlie President (ATrs G. Knowles‘Smitb) in a few well chosen words wished Aliss Lynn every good wish for the future and then clasped round her wrist a gold bracelet watch, tlie gift of her fellow workers. Miss Pollock on behalf of tlie participants in the recent praise winning playette. also presented Aliss Lynn with a box of handkerchiefs iii recognition of the training received. Aliss Lynn thanked the donors for their generous thoughts of her and assured one and ,‘>ll that her work had been a pleasure'. She particularly .urged tlie Bible Class 'Girls to carry on until a suitable successor was appointed. Supper was provided by the young ladies, tlie birthday cake being cut by Aliss Lynn- and the singing of Auld Lang • Syne - brought an enjoyable evening to. a close.
