A FACER' FOR THE PREACHER. A certain preacher was confronted by a problem when the young people of bis church demanded an answer to the following question:— “ The Church is torn by controversy over the question of the revision of the Prayer Rook, which inclines people to draw away from rather than enter into the service of God. “ Again, the average young man or woman is to-day showing complete apathy towards the life of the Church, seeming to live just as well as the few who do attend some place of worship on Sundays. “ Why is the Church not attracting these, who would in years ahead he the,responsible officers in the various denominations? What will he the future? Will people cease going to church altogether?” What could the preacher say? What did he say?” asks Hr Horton in the “Sunday Express.” “The facts stated could not be denied. The situation was just this. As if by concerted action, the new generation have determined to leave the old paths. They will not accept the truths their fathers try tight. They wnl not worship as their fathers worshipped. The churches their fathers built they desert.”
